Signs of a Vision Problem

Children can rarely tell you if they are having trouble seeing.

Here are some signs of a possible vision problem.
Your child may need an eye exam if your child:

has droopy eyelids
has an eye that turns in or out
shows a white reflection or no reflection instead of
red eye when color photos of their eyes are taken
covers one of his/her eyes while reading
squints excessively
blinks more than usual
rubs his/her eyes excessively
omits words, repeats or skips lines while reading
has difficulty reading the chalkboard
brings a book close to his/her eyes while reading
dislikes or avoids close work
often turns or tilts his/her head to one side
leaves written assignments unfinished often
has a short attention span
daydreams frequently
tends to be excessively clumsy
complains about intense or frequent headaches,
especially while reading
says he/she has fuzzy vision
says he/she has sore eyes
